Rodents are characterized by a single pair of continuously growing incisors in their upper and lower jaws that are kept short by gnawing. Forty percent of these mammal species are rodents, that include rats, mice, squirrels, porcupines, beavers, guinea pigs and hamsters. Rodents use their sharp teeth to gnaw wood, break into food, and bite predators. The most common problem causing rodents are rats and mice.
